Audio Book Summary

Feed is an electrifying and critically acclaimed novel of a world a half-step from our own that the New York Times calls “Astonishing” — a novel of zombies, geeks, politics, social media, and the virus that runs through them all — from New York Times bestseller Mira Grant.

The year was 2014. We had cured cancer. We had beat the common cold. But in doing so we created something new, something terrible that no one could stop. The infection spread, virus blocks taking over bodies and minds with one, unstoppable command: FEED.

Now, twenty years after the Rising, Georgia and Shaun Mason are on the trail of the biggest story of their lives—the dark conspiracy behind the infected. The truth will out, even if it kills them.

I tried to listen to this and I had to keep backing it up and replaying chapters because it was just not very interesting to me. I thought it would be more of a horror story but it had more of a political aspect to it.

Great spin on zombie apocalypse. Overall great listen!

It's a bit of a twist to read about a zombie-invaded world that still functuons rather closely to the way it does today: restaurants, electricity and internet, political campaigns, research and innovation. The story definitely has a lot of telling instead of showing, and constantly hits you over the head with character development (yeah, Georgia, you only trust sean, we get it) but the unique take on the zombie apocalypse combined with a cast of likeable characters and a good narrator make this a pretty good listen.
