Important reading for insight regarding the Kim dictatorship and the plight of the North Korean people

Move a little slow at times but was adventure packed. Amazing good fortune for this refugee.

Fascinating story and well narrated

I throroughly enjoyed this book to learn the life and culture of a country we do not get an insight into very often. I found the story of her journey fascinating, heartwarming, sad and courageous.

This book is enlightening, it allows an understanding and perspective I did not have before. Seeing through the eyes of the North Korean people, their hatred and fear of people outside their own country. I am now able to emphasize with them, their deliema and our roll to play. In addition the story has been told very well.

Enjoyed the story. I was intrigued by the social, cultural, and political insights provided throughout the story.

A relevant story for us to read so we continue to see the truth of the authors words in today's world.
