Audio Book Summary

~b~>With the winning, upbeat candor that has made her show on of the most popular and honored daytime shows on the air, beloved talk show host and comedian Ellen DeGeneres shares her views on life, love, and American Idol.

'I've experienced a whole lot the last few years and I have a lot to share. So I hope that you'll take a moment to sit back, relax and enjoy the words I've put together for you in this book. I think you'll find I've left no stone unturned, no door unopened, no window unbroken, no rug unvacuumed, no ivories untickled. What I'm saying is, let us begin, shall we?'

Seriously... I'm Kidding is a lively, hilarious, and often sweetly poignant look at the life of the much-loved entertainer as she opens up about her personal life, her talk show, and more.

I agree with some of the other reviews, if you like her already don't ruin it by reading this book. The content is beyond ridiculous and will be a complete waste of your time and money!!

Love Ellen, but this book is terrible. It's like she's trying to see how long she can say random things before you'll stop listening. She literally just says random words in one of the chapters. Very suprises someone so funny and smart would put this out :(

I like Ellen's stand-up comedy. I like her talk show. I liked her sitcom. She is a very talented and witty comedian. But books? I have read her previous books and found them to be Not Very Funny. Mildly amusing in spots, but overall not more than that. I was hoping that hearing her deliver her latest book out loud would render it funny, but it does not. For the first disc or so she is obviously reading her book to us. No performance to it at all. After a while she seems to loosen up and reads more naturally with more delivery and timing, but it is still not more than mildly amusing in spots. I am sorry, Ellen. Your live comedy is great. But it apparently does not translate to book format very well.

Funny lady. She talked fast, in her usual way that she covered a lot of ground on each of the 3...4? discs. She has an interesting writing style. I think its amusing that she is going on about some story that happened to her, and then strange twists start filtering, and you aren't sure when reality stopped and the tale started... and a few left you wondering if it really could have happened. I enjoyed it.

Ellen Degenerus (sp) is very funny with a sly wit that I usually enjoy very much. However, I enjoy her more when I see her perform than when I just listen.
