Audio Book Summary

The enchanting and bloodthirsty sequel to the New York Times bestselling novel The Cruel Prince.
You must be strong enough to strike and strike and strike again without tiring.
The first lesson is to make yourself strong.
After the jaw-dropping revelation that Oak is the heir to Faerie, Jude must keep her younger brother safe. To do so, she has bound the wicked king, Cardan, to her, and made herself the power behind the throne. Navigating the constantly shifting political alliances of Faerie would be difficult enough if Cardan were easy to control. But he does everything in his power to humiliate and undermine her even as his fascination with her remains undiminished.
When it becomes all too clear that someone close to Jude means to betray her, threatening her own life and the lives of everyone she loves, Jude must uncover the traitor and fight her own complicated feelings for Cardan to maintain control as a mortal in a Faerie world.

I did enjoy this series quite a lot. this book had a lot going on, but in a good way. the narrator is good, too, I feel. I dont know if I can NOT get the next audiobook now.

This book was very challenging to get through. While the bigger plot is interesting, the subplots feel like fluff and don’t do much to advance the plot or build character. There’s also not enough interaction or focus between Cardan and Jude so I find their supposed attraction to each other entirely forced and unrealistic. You’re lead to believe Jude has it all figured out yet things are not what it seems. The lack of deeper communication between the main characters make them seem very juvenile and a YA book.

Absolutely love this book! I had a long car ride by myself and I couldn’t put my book down so I decided to try an audiobook version and this narrator did not disappoint. Now I will only hear Jude’s voice as hers!

I enjoyed the first book a lot...I LOVED this book and am sitting here stewing because I have to wait for book 3. ACK! I would definitely recommend this as a read if you have read the first book. While there where parts I found predictable in the first book, that did not happen in this book. Now I need to know what happens next and I am in no mood to wait.
