    I'd heard an abridged version of this but wanted the unabridged one - this doesn't disappoint. I like Pullman as an author and his way of writing, he keeps you on the edge of your seat, listening intently.

    A totally engaging story with beautifully imagined characters. Philip Pullman at his finest, writing stories for teenagers that pull no punches and treats them with respect. Absolutely loved it. Furthermore, Michael Sheen is an incredible narrator. He crafts the characters with such sensitivity and his women’s voices are so believable and totally unpatronising. Just a total and utter pleasure to listen to. He had better do the rest of the books or I will be devastated.

    I absolutely loved this. It was a nice change to listen to a story rather than listening to music while working on a project and it was beautifully read by Michael Sheen, he really captured the characters! I will be recommending this!!!
