Audio Book Summary

Virgil Flowers will have to watch his back--and his mouth--as he investigates a college culture war turned deadly in another one of Sandford's 'madly entertaining Virgil Flowers mysteries' (New York Times Book Review).

At the local state university, two feuding departments have faced off on the battleground of science and medicine. Each carries their views to extremes that may seem absurd, but highly educated people of sound mind and good intentions can reasonably disagree, right?

Then a renowned and confrontational scholar winds up dead, and Virgil Flowers is brought in to investigate . . . and as he probes the recent ideological unrest, he soon comes to realize he's dealing with people who, on this one particular issue, are functionally crazy. Among this group of wildly impassioned, diametrically opposed zealots lurks a killer, and it will be up to Virgil to sort the murderer from the mere maniacs.

Not our favorite Flowers book, but still a good listen.. As always some great twists and turns, a little risque dialogue, and a good story.

I love any and all Virgil Flowers books! But, it must be narrated by Eric Conger. I wish he would do more book series. He is a master at audiobooks.

Not my favorite Viegil Flowers book, but highly entertaining non the less and definitely worth a listen. Eric Conger is a perfect match as the narrator for these books and delivers another rock solid performance.

Virgil Flowers saves the day again... albeit it takes a while to get through the early dialogue. I don't remember a John Sanford book starting so slowly as this one. Great finish, and Eric Conger always does a good narration.

Sanford is the best, mixing a great suspense novel with humor. Eric Conger is my favorite narrator. Virgil Flowers is loved by young and old. I just wish the author would write faster.......we need more!
