Audio Book Summary

The legendary frontman of Judas Priest, one of the most successful heavy metal bands of all time, celebrates five decades of heavy metal in this tell-all memoir.

Most priests hear confessions. This one is making his.

Rob Halford, front man of global iconic metal band Judas Priest, is a true "Metal God." Raised in Britain's hard-working, heavy industrial heartland, he and his music were forged in the Black Country. Confess, his full autobiography, is an unforgettable rock 'n' roll story-a journey from a Walsall council estate to musical fame via alcoholism, addiction, police cells, ill-fated sexual trysts, and bleak personal tragedy, through to rehab, coming out, redemption . . . and finding love.

Now, he is telling his gospel truth.

Told with Halford's trademark self-deprecating, deadpan Black Country humor, Confess is the story of an extraordinary five decades in the music industry. It is also the tale of unlikely encounters with everybody from Superman to Andy Warhol, Madonna, Jack Nicholson, and the Queen. More than anything else, it's a celebration of the fire and power of heavy metal.

Rob Halford has decided to Confess. Because it's good for the soul.

Hot damn! This book kept me cominh back to learn more. The story of the Metal God is a roller coaster like no other, while also being an inspiring story of a great man becoming comfortable to live as himself in the world. Rob is a great narrator just like he is a singer, and I would definitely recommend this to a friend, if they liked Priest.

A deeply personal and poignant insight into the life of the metal god. Funny, sometimes sad, and inspiring. It might not speak to everyone, but it certainly speaks to me.

A very interesting and honest book read by a heavy metal icon. It is a shame that he had to stay in the closest for so long to protect his image, and the success of the legendary Judas Priest band. If you are a Priest fan, and you skip this book, you have another thing coming! Highly recommended.

This is a poignant, honest and sometimes thrilling account of the heavy metal god's life. It follows the development of judas priest, one of the best heavy metal bands in history, as important as black sabbath. However, this book plays out moreso of halford's adventures and struggle in finding a mate and contains funny stories regarding his sexuality. The big concern was staying closeted as a homosexual...his concern was that revealing it would squash the band's reputation. Its amusing to read about what some of the lyrics to sime songs really mean. Theres plenty of stories about the shenanigans and revelations of the talent of the band. This is one of the best autobiographies of a heavy metal singer- a legend with nothing to hide in the end and his honesty is touching and oh so human.
