Audio Book Summary

Bakery owner Hannah Swensen has a dress to fit into and a date with her sister, Andrea, at Lake Eden's new health club, Heavenly Bodies. Dragging herself out of bed on a frigid Minnesota morning for exercise, of all things, is bad enough. Discovering the body of man-eating bombshell Ronni Ward floating in the gym's jacuzzi? Okay, that's worse. Nor does it help that there's a plate of The Cookie Jar's very own cream puffs garnishing the murder scene. Sometimes one needs something cozy, light, and humorous to listen to. The Hannah Swenson mysteries truly fit the bill. I love the series

It's my first time "reading" one of the Hannah Swensen mysteries, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hannah is a charming, funny character and who can resist her grumpy cat Moishe or her little town's assorted characters? I also enjoyed a book where the characters are regular people who laugh, argue, enjoy food and don't possess superhuman talents (except maybe Hannah's baking). The romance part is handled nicely, and the story moves along at a smooth, even pace. I like to bake, so the bonus recipes were a welcome surprise. Recommended if you're looking for a cozy mystery with a dash of humor.
