Sound crazy? It's all standard operating procedure at Zappos, the online retailer that's doing over $1 billion in gross merchandise sales annually. After debuting as the highest-ranking newcomer in Fortune magazine's annual 'Best Companies to Work For' list in 2009, Zappos was acquired by Amazon in a deal valued at over $1.2 billion on the day of closing.

In Delivering Happiness, Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh shares the different lessons he has learned in business and life, from starting a worm farm to running a pizza business, through LinkExchange, Zappos, and more. Fast-paced and down-to-earth, Delivering Happiness shows how a very different kind of corporate culture is a powerful model for achieving success-and how by concentrating on the happiness of those around you, you can dramatically increase your own. #1 New York Timesand Wall Street Journal bestseller

This is an excellent book, extremely engaging and inspiring. Although Tony Hsieh tells the story of how he started Zappos and took the company to where it is today, everything he talks about (especially company culture and core values) can be applied to one's life in general. The book is a very easy listen and there is never a dull moment. Highly recommended!

Fascinating story behind this inspiring company. I have to admit, 3/4 the way through reading it, I took to Linkedin and looked for available jobs in my area working for Zappos. Sadly, there were none :( Tony isn’t a trained narrator, but don’t hold that against him, he’s just sharing his passion. He’s a visionary and isn’t afraid to do things a little differently in order to achieve extraordinary results. I’ve already shared this book with my friends and family and feel everyone should give it a listen.

A good book to understand a very real journey towards an organizations customer focus and culture, including the twists and turns along the way. At times the book wades through less concise and relevant elements such as word-for-word emails, and just a tad too much personal background at the start. The vast majority is a really good read, with real decisions, mistakes, and successes. A great and inspiring book for those thinking about the culture and focus of big or small organizations.

I loved this book. I've read a lot about Zappos and find it to be such a fascinating company. To be honest, I wasn't excited when the beginning of the book laid out that it started out discussing Tony and his life for the first half. However, I loved that part as well, it put a lot of the how and why behind Zappos into perspective. Fantastic read for anyone interested in growing their business and company culture. Very relatable and inspirational.

Pleasantly surprised at how well I was able to relate to the book. However, Tony's narration can sound a little robotic at times.
