I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series. I’m starting this review backwards, the end of the book. The END. It had me downloading the next audio, Armed & Dangerous. I usually like to write a review on a book before starting the next in the series so that the storylines don’t blend but after that last sentence I HAD to start A&D and worry about this review later. Ok enough about the ending. I always have a silly smile on my face while listening or reading these books. Ty and Zane have so much chemistry together, whether it be sexual, as work partners or throwing one liners at each other. One of the earlier scenes in Divide & Conquer show them at work and Ty is bouncing off the walls while they are doing paperwork that he is texting Zane every few minutes with bad jokes and other things to get a raise out of Zane. But what’s funnier is when Zane gets Ty back while Ty is in a meeting. Each book in the Cut & Run series is focused around a different FBI case. And I really enjoy the mystery and clues that surround each case. I’ve always enjoyed watching movies and TV shows involving cops and their cases. But what really has me going “OMFG I need the next book” is the romance between Ty & Zane. It’s so different than any other romance I’ve read. I don’t know if the biggest part of that is that they are both male or not since Cut & Run is my first M/M series. A lot of romances in PNR and UF has an alpha male that we love or love to hate. But with Cut Run you get two alpha males. And it works! While both Ty and Zane are alpha in their own ways it’s fun watching them bend for the other one without losing their true selves. They have knock down the walls sex one minute and then share a tender moment. And as the series continues we get more and more of the tender moments. (But don’t worry there is still hot and violence sex scenes.) In the last book, Fish & Chips we get to see the two as a couple but not really as themselves since they are undercover as a married gay couple. They keep their relationship a secret and can openly be out together in public when they are home. Zane is very laid open to us emotionally in Divide & Conquer. He spends a lot of the book sitting on the bench because of an injury and has nothing but time to think about his feelings for Ty. FINALLY Zane tells Ty how he feels but more importantly he REALIZES how he feels about Ty. I could just gush on and on about how I love this series but I’ll stop so I can go back to listening to Armed & Dangerous. But just know that if you are looking to give M/M and/or Romantic Suspense genres a try I would HIGHLY recommend the Cut & Run series where you get both elements in a spectacular fashion.
