This was very eye opening for me and a catalyst for necessary change in my life. This book is filled with biblical truth concerning a very painful, complicated and often misunderstood topic that not only gave me clarity but also gave me practical applications on what I needed to do set boundaries, stop enabling and what to look for in safe people helpers. This gave me the courage to seek help, join Leslie’s private online support group to help me build my CORE and have the confidence to speak truth to my friends and family. This book led me to finding a community of godly, wise counselors and pastors (in person and through podcasts) who understand the nuances of abuse. In my case, this eventually led to my husband seeking help for his abuse and after a 10 month separation, and his demonstrated repentance, we are slowly rebuilding.
