In my honest opinion, this book is a bust and it's misleadingly named. The book itself might be called 'Hitler's Last Days', but he is not really the central focus of the story. I went into this book expecting that I would be hearing about his activity as, well, the title implies—his time in the Furherbunker and perhaps shortly before that. It would be like the literary version of the movie Downfall. Now, don't get me wrong, accounts of Hitler are contained in this book, but only as morsels. The rest of it spends a significant amount of time with Patton, or with a revolving door of other random figures that it chooses to accompany for a few pages. There is another review stating that this book and Killing Patton should have been combined into one, and I absolutely agree with that. The amount of material that this book contains does not warrant itself. Another complaint of mine has to do with the research. The level of it put into this book does not rise to the level that a professional historian would give it. This is distilled history. It's as if the author read the Wikipedia article about these events, and maybe also a book about Patton, and then wrote an account about them. If you're a history buff, I would not recommend buying this. As for the narration by Robert Petkoff, it's pretty average.

It was a good well written book. This book and Killing Patton were very familiar. Killing Patton and Hitler's last days should have been combined into one book
