Mark, the author is not a Christian, and living for God is my number one purpose. and I find Mark's insights extremely helpful in doing that. Jesus said that we should be learning how to love effectively, to be peacemakers, to control our passions in positive ways, to be open about our flaws, vulnerable, and many other things that this book sheds light on how to do successfully. I wish I had gotten started at a much younger age trying to use these ways of relating. it is hard to unlearn bad habits later in life. so I reread this book once a year and keep working rewiring the way I relate to people.
