Audio Book Summary

Millions of people have thrilled to bestselling authors Bill O'Reilly and historian Martin Dugard's Killing Kennedy and Killing Lincoln, works of nonfiction that have changed the way we view history.

Now the iconic anchor of The O'Reilly Factor details the events leading up to the murder of the most influential man in history: Jesus of Nazareth. Nearly two thousand years after this beloved and controversial young revolutionary was brutally killed by Roman soldiers, more than 2.2 billion human beings attempt to follow his teachings and believe he is God. Killing Jesus will take listeners inside Jesus's life, recounting the seismic political and historical events that made his death inevitable and changed the world forever.

This book did a great job of adding historical context to the story of Jesus.

After reading Killing Reagan and the Killing of the Rising Sun I was very curious as to how this "ancient" history , as opposed to 20th century history, would be handled. I learned more about the depraved society of Rome than anything else. The details about Jesus' life and death in this book were not new to me, thus making the book more academic than I had hoped. It's OK, it will not halt a bit my continued faith in what Jesus taught, lived and died for, my salvation. Enjoy.

I am 69 years old and grew up in a Christian family. For the past 40 years I have studied the Bible, attended many bible studies and sermons every Sunday. Killing Jesus has made a lot of "hard to understand " events and statements, understandable.

this book fails to live up to its claim as an educational book rather than evangelical. at least in the audio book he doesn't site anything other than the bible. I was expecting a lot more. Bill is also very boring. if you like his show on Fox news you will probably like it. It is just as credible.

This is a great book! It helps you to understand the culture of Jesus' day and the things that led Rome's officials to respond they way they did to Jesus' ministry. I highly recommend it.

I found this very interesting and especially liked the background on the various Roman rulers. Some was obviously embellished and conjecture to enhance the story, but still helped me understand the life of Christ.

I wasn’t too thrilled about it went into a lot of gory detail about crucifixion and tortures and beatings. It didn’t make you feel connected with Jesus the man.
