The preview is of the intro. The narrator for the intro was quite different from the narrator for the rest of the novel. Imagine my shock (after I buy it) when it changes from a soothing female voice to a a male voice I don’t quite like. What is the purpose of the preview if not to let us hear the voice.... ?

I found the narrator hard to follow , not clear enough enunciation . I don’t have perfect hearing and struggled , I found it tiring to listen . Otherwise it’s a fantastic classic

The book was actually really good and I loved the different writing styles it took. Also the narrator fit so perfectly with this book. I first listened to an audio that was on YouTube but it wasn’t so great, then I went here and I literally listened to the whole book in one sitting!!

Amazing story, great writing. At first I was not super happy about the narrating voice, but it really grew on me, and the way he made the characters come alive was really great.

Vastly overrated. A drearily boring, ideologically possessed work by an skilled author who should do better. The narrator was fine. His accent was untraceable and let me feel immersed on a different planet.

I’m glad I got this VIP book. It’s interesting, well written, the story and the manner in which the world unfolds is out of the box. I’ve developed even greater respect for Le Guin and my thoughts keep returning to this story and it’s implications. I’m not finished listening to it but I’m already happy of the impact. The narrator is good, and plays really well the different voices and gender fluidity. I do agree that he must not be easy to understand for everyone, and even though I appreciate him I can’t listen for long lengths of time because I need alot of energy to stay focused (I’d say he lacks charisma?).

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and recommend it. I liked the narrator but I did think toward the end he slurred some parts. Overall I liked his voice though.
