This book broke my heart into a million pieces. Most heart breaking story I have ever read. There were parts where I couldn’t believe what was happening. I had to take a break from this book to feel normal again. Will forever think of Jude

This is a very literary and intelligent book. I can see why it received all the accolades that it did. On the other hand, I listen to audio books that are lighter in tone and subject matter, and reserve this type of book for real reading. I found it too heavy and sad to listen to most of the time. The narrator was perfect for the tragedy of everything but again, I personally found him too heavy and monotone.

I was reading the paper copy and the listening to the audiobook, I needed the audio to get through a lot of the dry bits which in the beginning was a lot. This book has a moving story that is raw and emotional. Would recommend to people that want that deep emotional connection to a very sad story. The narration wad done very well and thank God because I needed it to get through!

Such a devastating and tragic, yet absolutely stunning story. The narrator does a tremendous job of capturing each characters unique tone and inflection, and emotes the pain and agony depicted in this harrowing story. I wish I could go back in time and hear this book again without knowing what was in store. I’ll never forget this book.
