Audio Book Summary

In Love Wins, bestselling author, international teacher, and speaker Rob Bell (Velvet Elvis, Drops Like Stars) addresses one of the most controversial issues of faith—hell and the afterlife—arguing, would a loving God send people to eternal torment forever?

Rob Bell is an electrifying, unconventional pastor whom Time magazine calls “a singular rock star in the church world,” with millions viewing his NOOMA videos.

With searing insight, Bell puts hell on trial with a hopeful message—eternal life doesn’t start when we die; it starts right now. And ultimately, Love Wins.

Beautiful book with ideas that will challenge beliefs that you were told as facts from a young age.

I love when books are read by the author - I think it makes it so much impactful to hear the words communicated as the author intended. And Rob is just great to listen to. I was raised in a Christian home and have been wanting to follow Jesus more deeply, but have been struggling with huge questions and doubts about how Christianity and God's universal, unconditional love can apply to the entire world. This is the best book I have read/listened to so far that has addressed some of those giant existential questions in ways that I can reconcile as still being "true" in the biblical sense, but also expands much bigger than the common Christian understanding. I still have loads of questions but the wide, fresh perspectives in this book gave me some level of peace that God really is good.

Jesus offended the mind to reveal the heart in most circumstances where he was teaching. This book will do the same in you. Refreshing insight!

I can heartily recommend this book. I even bought the print edition after listening to the audio version. If you love asking questions, you'll enjoy this book. If you want all the questions answered, you'll get frustrated. But for me, this book opens up the debate about heaven and hell and makes a lot of the stodgy "you'll go to hell unless you believe exactly what I say" look somewhat ridiculous.
