Audio Book Summary

Rigg is well trained at keeping secrets. Only his father knows the truth about Rigg's strange talent for seeing the paths of people's pasts. But when his father dies, Rigg is stunned to learn just how many secrets Father had kept from him - secrets about Rigg's own past, his identity, and his destiny. And when Rigg discovers that he has the power not only to see the past, but also to change it, his future suddenly becomes anything but certain. Rigg's birthright sets him on a path that leaves him caught between two factions, one that wants him crowned and one that wants him dead. He will be forced to question everything he thinks he knows, choose who to trust, and push the limits of his talent . . . or forfeit control of his destiny.

This is by far the best book about time travel I have ever read. It logically reasons out all of the steps and implications very well. Keeps you interested throughout the whole story. The narrators are alright not adding nor subtracting to the story. Except one chapter they introduce someone who sounds absolutely awful. Bare with it as it's only one chapter and it's really good.

I enjoyed the book. The narration was difficult at times they added another narrator in the book. He was not just a new "voice" but a new narrator for the same characters made parts of the book a little off

This series is awesome. I love science fiction books and how they make you think about the "what if" of the world. My favorite part of this book is the way Card looks at time travel in a different perspective than most other science fiction books on the same subject. It definitely can get a bit confusing at times, but even the characters in the book seem incredulous that they can time travel, which in my opinion actually makes the whole thing a bit easier to swallow. Enough of the book is "normal" to not make it too heady to understand. Another great facet of this book is how everything seems to be a mind game of some sort. I loved that aspect as it really made me have to think. This is definitely not a book you should listen to if you want an easy listen or to relax. It can get complicated and confusing, but I assure you, it is well worth it if you love Orson Scott Card or science fiction.

Another wonderful science fiction from Orson Scott Card. I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook and have recommended the book to my friends, whether in audiobook form, or just to read it. There is more than one narrator throughout the audiobook, representing different characters point of views, which surprised me at first, but by the end of the novel, I was used to the convention. Overall - this was a good listen!
