Audio Book Summary

Adrian Alistair Rohan lost his faith, and now, a dedicated member of the depraved Heavenly Host, he loses himself in his only pleasure: the seduction and debauchery of beautiful women. Rich, charming, and devastatingly skilled in the arts of love, he never fails in his conquests...until Charlotte Spenser.

Charlotte is facing a desolate, passionless future, none of which matters to Adrian, who imagines her a toy until better prey arrives. But beneath her drab exterior, Charlotte is a woman as enchanting as she is brilliant, and, lured into Adrian's world, she soon becomes the seducer and he the seduced.

Anne Stuart is a talented writer for sure, she's got interesting and edgy stories with beautiful writing. The narrator is quite good too. But if you pull apart the characters more closely, you wouldn't like them very much. He's a self-centered, self-indulgent asshole with no depth to him and she, though portrait as this curious and strong-minded woman, never actually says or does anything intellectual and falls in love with this guy for his looks (over and over she repeats how beautiful he is). But the whole book they never actually have a single intelligent in-depth or emotional conversation to actually fall in love not lust, all they do the whole book is have sex or talk about having or not having it. That doesn't make for a strong relationship basis...sorry didn't convince me it's real love that will last a lifetime but infatuation. But sure was entertaining to listen to.
