Audio Book Summary

A MYSTERIOUS CONTAGION. MASS HYSTERIA. SUDDEN DEATH.And a warning that would come all too late . . .Forest Peak, California. Fourth of July. Sheriff Danielle Adelman, a troubled war veteran, thinks she has all the problems she can handle in this all-American town after her kid sister runs away from home. But when a disease-stricken horde of panicked refugees fleeing the fall of Los Angeles swarms her small mountain community, Danny realizes her problems have only just begun-starting with what might very well be the end of the world. Danny thought she had seen humanity at its worst in war-torn Iraq, but nothing could prepare her for the remorseless struggle to survive in a dying world being overrun by the reanimated dead and men turned monster. Obsessed with finding her missing sister against all odds, Danny's epic and dangerous journey across the California desert will challenge her spirit . . . and bring her to the precipice of sanity itself.

I’m an avid fan of zombie/apocalyptic novels! This novel definitely didn’t disappoint!! Even better.. I picked it out from my VIP selection for FREE!! The main character Danny, lived through many close calls (too many I think! 99% of us would have perished after the 2nd brush with death!) but it was still enjoyable! I’ll be investing in Book 2!

I never get tired of a great zombie apocalyptic story. I enjoyed this very much, and would recommend if you are also a fan of this type of fiction. The characters were strong, and had you rooting for or against them. The narration was also excellent. That sometimes makes or breaks a story for me. Rise again, you will be glad you did.

I am not sure why I finished reading this book except the reader is awesome and the ending is it’s only redeeming feature. It would be nice if the author knew any other adjectives besides the F word. It takes about 3/4 of the book to even care about whether the main character lives or dies. And there are moments of inconsistent character actions such as when said character flips out when her group is looting. During the apocalypse. And when Amy who is so sweet even to killers defames Christians and Republicans. But I guess the author had to get his bias in somewhere. Good thing this was a free book. I did learn that zombie books are Not fine literature and that I won’t be purchasing more from this author.

Nothing new, can’t really connect with the main character. The author hates Republicans.

I don’t normally like Zombie movies or books but I thought I’d give it a try. It was pretty interesting for the most part but I hate sad/bad endings! Lol! But what did I expect from a Zombie book??? Lol!!!!

Very good story. Some of the story line is a lil predictable but is still masterfully told and the ending is quite a dozy.
