Audio Book Summary

A Lucas Davenport thriller by internationally bestselling novelist John Sandford.

Lucas Davenport knows why people kill. Some do it for thrills. Some do it for profit. Some do it because they must. But when his team guns down two bank robbers in the middle of a heist, Davenport falls prey to the purest, simplest criminal motivation of all: revenge.

Dick LaChaise is the husband of one of the dead bank robbers and brother to the other. He wants Davenport to suffer as he has.

So he's not going after Davenport himself . . . he's going after his family.

The book is really good I have read it when time permitted. The narrator read it too fast, other books he has narrated are good.

Awful----------disliked the abridged version, may have liked the unabridged better. John Sandford is a far better writer than this book. Do not recommend.

Definately not one of Sandford's best, I have read a number of the Lucas Davenport stories and this is by far the most disjointed and difficult to follow. It stuggles to keep your interest. My advise is just skip this one there are too many other really good ones.

I've read and liked other Lucas Davenport tales before but this one left me cold. Too too many characters to keep straight in an abridged version -- and maybe in the original too. There's a lot going on and lots of violence and pointless gore but not a lot of background information or character motivation for our bad guys -- just that they're apparently suicidal idiots. The good guys have their own foolish characters too. This is one of the least interesting books I've gotten from Simply Audio and I wouldn't recommend it at all.
