Narrator mispronounced words occasionally and sometimes didn't perform the flow of the sentence very well. Also, as she didn't vary voice for different speakers, some of the dialogue became confusing because tags were often left off.

In The Age of Innocence, Wharton looks back fondly on the life that was enjoyed by the privileged class of the East Coast before the many changes wrought by World War I.
