Audio Book Summary

Story is narrated by John Fothergill West, who tries to discover why the tenant of Cloomber Hall, General Heatherstone, is nervous to the point of being paranoid. Why are his fears becoming stronger every year at the fifth of October? And why doesn't he let his children leave home? This is a great mystery novel with a sharp twist at the end.

always like a conan doyle mystery but the narration is appalling. Only listened to 1 minute couldn't take anymore. Prefer to read the book than listen to that voice

The narration was boring. Perhaps the story was boring. After the fourth chapter, the plot was still unclear. At that point, I decided to rate it and discontinue.

Clever storyline. Question of vengeance vs revenge and that you should take into consideration the periods view of culture and beliefs.

Sir Canon-Doyle has done it again. A typical Sherlock Holmes mystery, but without Sherlock Holmes. The narrator was excellent. He has kept the voices different enough that you can easily tell which character is speaking without be told. I enjoyed this book and recommend it.
