Audio Book Summary

An unfathomable power

Nesta Archeron has always been prickly—proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange,
deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.

The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites.
The fire between them is undeniable, and it only burns hotter as they are forced to work closely together.

Meanwhile, the treacherous human queens who returned to the continent during the last war have forged a dangerous new alliance, threatening the fragile peace that has settled over the realms. And the key to halting them might very
well rely on Cassian and Nesta facing their haunting pasts.

Against the sweeping backdrop of a world seared by war and plagued with uncertainty, Nesta and Cassian battle monsters from within and without as they search for acceptance—and healing—in each other’s arms.

I really enjoyed this book, with a few of the lesser known characters getting more of the story line. The last fourth of the book was my favorite part & had me glued to my earbuds. The only thing I would have liked better, was the consistency with the narration. I got so used to the narrator of the last two books in the series; the tone & speed of each character’s voice was well thought-out and unique. It took awhile for me to get used to the different voices and pace of this narrator.

I know the bat boys are hundreds of years old, but WHY does the narrator make them sounds like fragile 90 year old men?? Terrible. Not a single voice matches the character. 3 books of character building is is destroyed with this narration. Stone cold Nesta who's voice hold venom is now bratty 13 year old girl experiencing her first cycle. I could go on; this is just bad.

Good continuation of the narrative. Problematic narrator who could not quite hit the right tone for the narrated emotions. Always a bit off, so not as good as the first two.

Absolutely loved the entire series but this was definitely one of the best books in it.

Arguably the best book in the series. However, the narration left a lot to be desired. Tone and inflection were all over the place, and regardless of the narration telling the reader how certain lines are to be read and perceived, the narrator would deliver them in a way that completely changed the intent of the words, and therefore the intent and development of the character. I 100% recommend reading this book, but I only 5% recommend listening to the audiobook.
