I like the story but some of the narrators are hard to understand. Plus the beginning of the chapter gets annoying with repeating the same recording.

The various narrators and the changing between the voices and various accent with unusual pronunciations really spoiled this story. My 8 year old wanted to continue to listen to the story but didn’t like the narration so we accessed a different narration by Alan Bennett for Radio 4 and much preferred it.

Interesting book that needs to be viewed from the perspective of the time frame it was written. Narrators were better than some.

I love this story and can't believe I never read it as a child. The numerous narrators can be both interesting and frustrating, as well as the break at the end of each chapter. But that's the price you pay for a free audiobook I suppose.

It was hard to stay engaged because the narrator read too slow with awkward pauses.
