Audio Book Summary

The success stories speak for themselves in this audio book from money maestro Dave Ramsey. Instead of promising the normal dose of quick fixes, Ramsey offers a bold, no-nonsense approach to money matters, providing not only the how-to but also a grounded and uplifting hope for getting out of debt and achieving total financial health.
Ramsey debunks the many myths of money (exposing the dangers of cash advance, rent-to-own, debt consolidation) and attacks the illusions and downright deceptions of the American dream, which encourages nothing but overspending and massive amounts of debt. 'Don't even consider keeping up with the Joneses,' Ramsey declares in his typically candid style. 'They're broke!'
The Total Money Makeover isn't theory. It works every single time. It works because it is simple. It works because it gets to the heart of the money problems: you.

Simple. and Do-able. no-nonsense approach to financial literacy. No excuses. Just common sense (but not a great rich quick, just responsible financing)

On a practical level- He had some good points/advice with snowballing your payments to tackle debt. But other than that, the author as the narrator was awful... To be an extremist in loving yourself and your idea SO much that you believe your opinion is the one and only way to achieve something, felt like a big red flag. And on an even more personal note, the way he chose to enunciate certain words and mannerisms drove me crazy! Made me almost quit the book early multiple times. Basically, if you’re the mood to have a condescending voice tell you you’re an idiot for spending any money and are ok with stashing money under your mattress for the rest of your life- then this is the book for you.

Common sense approach to money management that everyone should be living by. Simple and doable approach to living debt free. I do wish that I bought the hard copy rather than the audio version, but still worth the buy.

Dave tackles the subject in an easy-to-understand way that makes a lot of sense. No-nonsense, no runaround, just plain facts and easy to follow steps. I enjoy his books and the excitement he narrates them with.

Sound guidance. Dave should re-record the narration; his voice has changed somewhat and the quality of the audio is not as good as his podcast recording. I would recommend.

His sarcasm and patronizing tone was hard to enjoy. Content spot on

Content is great. Narrator’s sneering, patronising, shouty style is really aggravating.

I absolutely love this book! all the steps are extremely easy to understand. I was already able to pay off 2 credit cards debts that I've had for years following Dave's steps. this simply works if you want it to work.
